Grower's Notes (Our Experience):
Tenuijulis is an Asian willow variety that originally came from Korea, and our understanding it was introduced to the United States for biofuel development. It features slender leaves and a growth habit that resembles bamboo, making it suitable for a hedge without the aggressive spreading associated with running bamboo. In our experience, these plants grow rapidly, reaching 6 to 7 feet in their first six months and mature heights of 12 to 14 feet. We manage the growth by coppicing the plants back to the ground every winter, which encourages denser regrowth the following year. Like almost all willows, Tenuijulis is easy to propagate from cuttings, allowing growers to expand their plantings easily from a single initial cutting.

Salix Tenuijulis Slender Catkin Willow is a fast-growing deciduous shrub native to Central Asia. It features long, slender leaves and produces upright, straight rods that reach a height of 12 to 14 feet. The rods turn black when dried, making them suitable for wattle fencing, living structures, and coarse basketry. This variety adapts well to annual coppicing, serves as a non-invasive hedge alternative to bamboo, and propagates easily from cuttings.
This product is a dormant cutting that will take root, leaf out, and grow if planted under the right conditions.
