We sell plant cuttings and scionwood. Our sales are seasonal and take place when cuttings are mature enough to harvest and be shipped to you. We have two sale seasons: Summer and Winter. During our Winter Sale Season, we sell dormant hardwood cuttings and scionwood for propagation and grafting. During our Summer Sale Season, we sell active green cuttings for propagation. 

During our winter harvest sale we harvest cuttings after they have reached dormancy. We then cut to size, label, and place all the cuttings in controlled storage at 37deg. Once everything is harvested and counted, we upload the inventory to make it available on our store. 

When does the winter sale take place this year? Our Winter Sale runs from start until inventory runs out. The timing of the start of our winter sale varies year to year but this year it will be on JAN 01 2025 12PM PST. Check our home page in the late fall to confirm the time. Another way to keep up to date is to use the back-in-stock button located on each product page. When the product is available to purchase, you'll be notified.

When do we ship? To minimize the amount of time in transit, we only ship on Mondays. The first shipment is typically a week and a half after the sale starts. After that, any orders received before Friday at 5pm will be shipped out the following Monday. Unfortunately, we cannot combine shipping for separate orders during the same shipping period. See our shipping policies here.

Specific Reminders:

Shopify does not hold products for you in your shopping cart. Products are not reserved for you until after payment. If you put an item in your cart and it is sold out before you check out, you may receive a message that items in your cart are unavailable. Unfortunately this system isn't something we can change.

No combined shipping orders. One shipment per order. Help us use less packaging and save you money by ordering everything at once. We're happy to fill multiple orders to the same address but we will need to ship them in separate containers. See our shipping policies here.

Shipping Status. General Shipping Status will be shown on the home page. This will include next order number to ship and next ship date. We generally ship on Mondays to avoid packages spending time in transit over the weekend. See our shipping policies here.

Availability of Specific Varieties. Pruning to harvest for cuttings takes a toll on the tree or shrub. Some varieties we will pass on taking cuttings for the health of the tree. One week before the sale starts, we will label those varieties that will not be available. Thank you for your patience during the harvest/inventory time.

Fig Cutting Shortage. We had a hard freeze last winter. All our unprotected fig trees survived but died back to the ground so many varieities will only have one or two cuttings available. We are looking into protecting them in the future but need to let the trees recover this year.

HOW DO I KNOW WHEN A SALE STARTS?

Since our products are seasonal,it can be difficult to know when they go on sale. You can keep track of when our products go on sale in two ways. 1) We will always post the exact date and time on our home page at least a month before our summer sale in mid-June and at least a month before our winter sale in late December or early January. 2) On every product page, there is a notification button "Click here to receive an email when this is available." By submitting your email address, you will receive an email when that product is back in stock and ready to order.

WHAT DOES "SOLD OUT FOR THE SEASON" MEAN?

Cuttings and scionwood are seasonal in nature. We only sell cuttings when the plant or tree can bear it and when the timing is right. "Sold out for the season" means that it is not available now, but we are growing it and it will be available in the future.

HOW DO YOU PRICE YOUR PRODUCTS?

Prices are uniform across the type of cutting or scionwood. Larger shipments are easier for us to process so we have a standing offer of 10% off for any 10 items and 20% off for any 20 items. To read more about how we charge for shipping, see our shipping policy.
