Karmijn de Sonnaville Apple (Malus domestica 'Karmijn de Sonnaville') Scionwood
Grower's Notes (Our Experience):
Karmijn de Sonnaville is a Dutch apple variety created from a cross between Cox's Orange Pippin and Jonathan. It features a firm texture with high sugar levels, sharp acidity, and a strong, intense flavor. We found that it performs well when eaten fresh off the tree, as well as processed for baking in pies and crumbles or dehydrated.
Botanical Specs & Profile:
Karmijn de Sonnaville is a Dutch apple variety developed from a cross between Cox's Orange Pippin and Jonathan. It produces medium to large fruit with a russeted, orange-red skin. The crisp flesh delivers an intense flavor with high sugar content and sharp acidity, making it suitable for fresh eating, baking, and processing. The tree grows to a mature height of 12 to 15 feet and thrives in USDA hardiness zones 4 through 8 in full sun and well-drained soil.
This product is a dormant cutting that will generally be used for grafting onto an existing tree of the same type or onto compatible rootstock. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee grafting success. If you are new to grafting, follow the link on each product page for 'Videos on Grafting...'.
