Golden Weeping Willow (Salix × sepulcralis 'Chrysocoma') Cutting
Grower's Notes (Our Experience):
Golden Weeping Willow is one of several weeping willows we grow, but we find it the most beautiful. Unlike the traditional weeping willow (Salix babylonica) or the Wisconsin weeping willow, which grow straight up for their first year or two before weeping, this variety starts to lean early on. However, if allowed to develop a single trunk, it will gain height and become a very large tree that supports its own weight without staking. We coppice our trees back every year to about six inches off the ground to harvest the rods, and they grow back reliably. In the winter, the branches turn a bright yellow, creating a striking contrast against green foliage when the new leaves emerge in early spring. This variety thrives near water features like running streams or ponds, where it grows rapidly, requires low maintenance, but needs ample space to mature.

The Golden Weeping Willow Salix alba Tristis is a fast-growing deciduous tree featuring pendulous golden-yellow branches and a broad, weeping habit. This moisture-tolerant selection adapts to wet soils and locations near water features, providing shade and winter interest in large landscapes.
This product is a dormant cutting that will take root, leaf out, and grow if planted under the right conditions.
