Grower's Notes (Our Experience):
Eagle Black Currant is a variety we grow that produces reliably, with branches that lean under the weight of the fruit. In our experience, it has a strong flavor profile similar to Titania and is less sweet than varieties like Tenah. The fruit can be eaten fresh, or it can be cooked and sweetened into jam. Our mother plant is healthy, leafs out early, and features a strong fragrance in the spring. Similar to all Black Currants, we find it easy to propagate from winter cuttings.

Eagle Black Currant is a productive deciduous shrub grown for its small to medium-sized edible berries. The plant features arching branches that bear clusters of tart fruit, which ripen in early summer and are utilized for fresh eating, jams, and juices. It exhibits strong disease resistance and a upright growth habit, with aromatic foliage that emerges early in the spring. Suitable for temperate climates, this variety adapts well to rich, well-drained soils in full sun to partial shade and can be propagated from dormant cuttings.
