Callie's Delight Mulberry (Morus 'Callie's Delight') Cutting
Grower's Notes (Our Experience):
Cali's Delight is a contorted mulberry variety that, unlike some of our other mulberries with curved branches, produces fruit. We harvest a good amount of fruit from it year to year. The main characteristic of this variety is its twisted, contorted stems. Because the stems bend and do not grow completely straight, the plant has a slight weeping habit and less structural rigidity, which creates an interesting visual effect when it moves in the wind outdoors.
Botanical Specs & Profile:
Callie's Delight is a deciduous, self-fertile contorted mulberry tree reaching a mature height of 25 to 30 feet and a width of 15 to 20 feet. It features twisted branches with a slight weeping habit and requires structural support when young. In late spring and early summer, it produces black, sweet fruit measuring over one inch in length. Suitable for USDA growing zones 5A through 9B, this variety performs best in full to partial sun.
This product is a dormant cutting that will take root, leaf out, and grow if planted under the right conditions. Since plant propagation success rates can vary depending on climate, location, and timing there is no universal recipe for success.
