Basfordiana Willow (Salix fragilis 'Basfordiana') Cutting
Stem color ranges between yellow and orange. Used for weaving and an excellent ornamental.
This product is a dormant cutting that will take root, leaf out, and grow if planted under the right conditions. Since plant propagation success rates can vary depending on climate, location, and timing there is no universal recipe for success. If you are new to plant propagation, follow the link on each product page for 'Videos on How to Propagate...'.Â

A+ healthy cuttings
Started off great. I transferred three separate cuttings into water as soon as they arrived. The Basfordiana began to root out in the water within maybe 3 days. After 10 days in water I planted a decently rooted Basfordiana, well rooted Black Maul, and poorly rooted Jaune de Falaise into the ground. I have predominantly clay soil in Virginia. All the varieties began to leaf out at the same rate despite the difference in roots. However, a cold snap knocked the Basfordiana back significantly. Despite warmer temperatures now, it's struggling to rebound.
