Ashmeads Kernal Apple (Malus domestica 'Ashmead Kernal') Scionwood
is a small to medium-sized dessert apple originating from Gloucester, England in the 18th century, famous for its rough brown russet skin over a greenish-yellow base and sometimes a red-orange blush. Its flesh is dense and crunchy, offering a distinctive sharp-sweet flavor with hints of honey and pear, mellowing with storage; it is prized for juicing and fresh eating, though its irregular, lumpy shape makes its appearance unique among apples.
This product is a dormant cutting that will generally be used for grafting onto an existing tree of the same type or onto compatible rootstock. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee grafting success. If you are new to grafting, follow the link on each product page for 'Videos on Grafting...'.
