Aquatica Gigantea Germany Willow (‘Aquatica Gigantea Germany’) Cutting
Grower's Notes (Our Experience):
Aquatica Gigantea Germany is one of the most vigorous varieties that we grow in our willow beds. It reaches approximately 14 feet in height within six months after being coppiced to the ground each winter. Originally developed for potential biofuel and biomass use, we find it serves well for kindling, as the long, narrow rods dry quickly and burn rapidly. It can also be chipped for mulch or potentially utilized as livestock fodder. This willow grows well in sunny locations with abundant water, establishing a substantial root structure that supports vigorous growth year after year from initial cuttings.
Botanical Specs & Profile:
Aquatica Gigantea Germany is an extremely vigorous deciduous willow used for biomass, biofuel, kindling, mulch, and large living structures. It produces rapid, robust growth, capable of reaching 14 to 18 feet in height within two years. The variety features exceptionally large mature leaves and thrives in locations with full sun and damp or wet soil. It propagates easily from cuttings and is typically coppiced to the ground annually during the winter to manage its massive seasonal growth.
This product is a dormant cutting that will take root, leaf out, and grow if planted under the right conditions. Since plant propagation success rates can vary depending on climate, location, and timing there is no universal recipe for success.
