Zitavia White Currant (Ribes rubrum 'Zitavia') Cutting

Zitavia white currant is one of the earliest white currants to ripen for us, typically ready for us in early summer around late June. It has a relatively mild and slightly tart flavor, lacking the strong taste intensity found in black currants. Like most currants, we find that the lighter the fruit is the better it is for eating fresh, although the seeds in Zitavia and other white and red currants are noticeable. We've heard this and other currants are widely popular in the Netherlands and the rest of Europe.

Zitavia White Currant (Ribes rubrum) is a disease-resistant deciduous shrub that produces large, translucent white berries on long clusters. This self-fertile, mid-season variety grows to a mature height of 3 to 5 feet, prefers full sun to partial shade, and is hardy in USDA zones 3 through 8.

This product is a dormant cutting that will take root, leaf out, and grow if planted under the right conditions. Since plant propagation success rates can vary depending on climate, location, and timing there is no universal recipe for success. If you are new to plant propagation, follow the link on each product page for 'Videos on How to Propagate...'.
