Royal Ann (Prunus avium 'Royal Ann') Scionwood

Grower's Notes (Our Experience):

Royal Ann Cherry is a mid-season variety that we harvest around the same time as Bing cherries. Without much foliage and with more exposure to sun, the fruit develops a mostly red color rather than a heavy blush. It has a soft texture and a high sugar content. We graft our trees onto seedling rootstock like Mazzard to promote long-term health and fruit production, and we have found this variety to be fairly resistant to skin cracking during humid weather.

Botanical Specs & Profile:

Royal Ann, also known as Napoleon, is a sweet cherry variety that produces large, pale yellow fruit with a red blush and firm, light-colored flesh. The cherries have a sweet, mild flavor and are used for fresh eating, canning, and producing maraschino cherries. The tree exhibits an upright growth habit, reaching a mature height of 12 to 20 feet. It requires full to partial sun, well-drained soil, and a compatible sweet cherry variety for cross-pollination. It is hardy in USDA zones 5 through 9.

This product is a dormant cutting that will generally be used for grafting onto an existing tree of the same type or onto compatible rootstock. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee grafting success. If you are new to grafting, follow the link on each product page for 'Videos on Grafting...'.
