Grower's Notes (Our Experience):
Navajo Willow, also known as Globe Willow, grows to take the shape of a half sphere. While the shape may not be perfectly round due to a slightly weeping habit at the ends of the branches, it remains an attractive addition to the landscape. We manage most of our stock in a dedicated willow bed where it is coppiced back every year, though if allowed to grow to its full height, it can become a very tall tree. Unlike some weeping willows, branch strength keeps the leaders from bending over. The tree is drought tolerant, and the amount of water it receives each summer will influence both its growth length and the overall fullness of its spherical shape.
