Long Red Mulberry Cutting
Long Red Mulberry Cutting
Long Red Mulberry (Morus alba 'Long Red') Cutting
This Long Red Mulberry (DMOR 86) was obtained from the U.S. National Plant Germplasm System. This was from a sample donated to the NPGS in 2006. The sample came a from a tree growing over a fence in soil a few feet below sidewalk level across the street from 1936 E. Tremont Ave. Just east of plantain maple (Acer platanoides) and east of billboard. The NPGS entry states that the berries are longer and narrow than average; good flavor; low yield. We found that it is on of our more earlier varieties to ripen.
This product is a dormant cutting that will take root, leaf out, and grow if planted under the right conditions. Since plant propagation success rates can vary depending on climate, location, and timing there is no universal recipe for success. If you are new to plant propagation, follow the link on each product page for 'Videos on How to Propagate...'.
