Mary Walcott Wildflower Collection Spiral Notebooks
The Painting: Mary Morris Vaux Walcott (July 31, 1860 – August 22, 1940) was an American artist and naturalist known for her watercolor paintings of wildflowers. Over many summers Mary travelled to the Canadian Rockies looking for important flowering species to paint. In 1925, the Smithsonian published some 400 of her illustrations, accompanied by brief descriptions, in a five-volume work entitled North American Wild Flowers. The image used here has been cropped and color enhanced. Signs of age on the paper background such as specks, mold, and paper stains have been removed.
The Spiral Notebook: These are 5.5″ × 8.5″ (13 × 21 cm) 140 page dotted (not lined) notebooks with metal wire-o binding. The covers have soft-touch coating and weight 10.38 oz/yd² (352 g/m²) and thickness 0.375″ (0.95 cm). The page weight is 2.62 oz/yd² (89 g/m²). The notebook is sourced and cover printed in the United States.
