Deborah Passmore Wildflower Collection Spiral Notebooks

The Painting:  Deborah Griscom Passmore (1840-1911) was a botanical artist employed by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) for nineteen years. These wildflower artwork watercolors come from an unpublished volume entitled Flowers in Water Color: Wildflowers of America that she created outside the scope of her work with USDA. They were labeled with their subject's scientific name by Edward Lee Greene (1843-1915). Painted imperfections depicted by the artist, such as scab and rot, have been maintained from the original. The image used here has been cropped and in some cases signatures moved. Signs of age on the paper background such as specks, mold, and paper stains have been removed.

The Spiral Notebook: These are 5.5″ × 8.5″ (13 × 21 cm) 140 page dotted (not lined) notebooks with metal wire-o binding. The covers have soft-touch coating and weight 10.38 oz/yd² (352 g/m²) and thickness 0.375″ (0.95 cm). The page weight is 2.62 oz/yd² (89 g/m²). The notebook is sourced and cover printed in the United States.
