We hear that it is very popular in Europe as a basketry willow and we can see why. They branches grow vigorously and very true. We also maintain a mature plot planted two and a half years ago, which we cut back every winter to harvest the decorative curly willow stems. This variety can be grown as a spring and summer hedge, then aggressively pruned each winter to harvest the first-year wood for decorations or gifts.
